The Carbon Foundation was created to sponsor technology projects that have maximum decarbonization and social impact. It provides a way for individuals, families, and businesses to completely offset their carbon footprint as they help the disadvantaged.
The Carbon Foundation was established by Mission 6 as part of the SDG Impact Fund www.sdgimpactfund.com. The Carbon Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. It is dedicated to achieving the UN goals through energy efficiency/GHG avoidance projects.
Mission 6
Mission 6 is a Carbon Registry that targets the largest source of global emissions, energy production and consumption. With this intense focus, Mission 6 is privy to emerging decarbonization technologies. Technologies with the greatest potential to assist the Carbon Foundation accomplish its mission, are selected for incubation and deployment.
The screening process applies three criteria – decarbonization impact, cost per ton of carbon mitigated, and market potential to grow to full scale. Chosen technologies are deployed for free in underserved communities. As these energy-saving or clean energy-generating projects are implemented, subscriber carbon footprints are offset. Donated technologies generate up to 10x payback in reduced utility expense for charitable organizations serving the disadvantaged.
